Effective April 15, Spike Will Affect Finished Lubricants, Greases, and Specialty Products
Citing “intense inflationary pressure” due to increased costs across the board, some major suppliers have announced yet another price increase of up to 25% effective April 15 on finished lubricants, greases, and specialty products. The move, which comes mere weeks after the last round of price increases in March, comes in response to increased costs for base oils, additives and significant increases to packaging and freight costs, according to Shell. “These increases in raw materials and the costs to service our customers are taking a heavy toll on our business, and we foresee little relief from them in the near term,” an announcement by the company states. “With the way things are going globally and the measures that have taken place in our own country, this doesn’t come as much of a shock - but that doesn’t mean it stings any less,” said SCL General Manager Travis Becktel. “Recent events in Ukraine, restrictions on oil production here in the United States, political crises across the globe - all of that has contributed to the climate we are in now. The one positive is that we have and will continue to help our customers weather this storm by saving money in other areas like preventive maintenance to help keep all your equipment operating properly.” For more information on programs, products, and bulk ordering that can help you save and keep your machines performing optimally, contact your SCL sales representative.
